Social Worker

A school-based social worker position is available to provide essential support services within a K-12 educational environment in Pontiac, MI. This role focuses on addressing students’ social and emotional needs to enhance their academic success and overall well-being throughout the school year.

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students to address behavioral, emotional, and social issues.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans tailored to student needs.
• Facilitate crisis intervention and provide resources to support students facing challenges such as family difficulties, mental health concerns, or substance abuse.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to monitor student progress and adjust strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all interventions and case notes.

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Valid state social work license or school social work certification.
• Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to support services.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
