Program Manager, Compliance Assurance, Issues Management
About the role
The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of compliance and risk management programs, focusing on issues management and binding legal commitments.
- Work closely with other teams to guide them through the compliance process, improve communication, and use data to make better decisions.
- Partner with engineering teams to enhance the systems used for tracking issues and compliance, and continuously find ways to improve the overall program.
- Lead and mentor a team of compliance professionals, fostering a collaborative culture and helping them with their career growth.
- Evaluate regulations in the context of Google's technical infrastructure, benchmark against industry standards, and use key risk indicators to provide strategic oversight and ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.
- Experience organizing data and applying business context to improve processes or operations.
- Experience in developing, implementing compliance programs; equal focus on strategy and execution.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Experience in stakeholder management; including coordination with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, external auditors, and customers.
