Pharmacy Tech III

The individual in this position will assist in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medication orders, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

• fill and label medications
• stock medications into pharmacy inventory
• restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs)
• maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications
• deliver medications to patient care areas
• attend to medication requests and phone calls
• prepare IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products
• assist in Pharmacy quality assurance activities
• train and educate pharmacy technicians on department and hospital policies and procedures, quality assurance, and performance improvement processes
• comply and assure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures
• assist pharmacists and Supervisors in performing various duties as assigned
• serve as a resource for pharmacy drug distribution functions

• Minimum requirements are a High School Diploma or equivalent GED and Three (3) years of hospital pharmacy experience or performance equivalent to 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
• Preferred education is a Completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program or pharmacy technician experience and Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred with training and experience in sterile (IV) compounding, including chemotherapy preparations
