About the role
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2025–2026 school year in a K-12 school located in Surprise, AZ. This role focuses on supporting students with significant needs in a Structured Teaching Classroom (K–8), emphasizing a highly structured, visual, and predictable learning environment. Candidates with experience in the TEACCH model or structured teaching practices are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Utilize data-driven instruction and conduct ongoing progress monitoring
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district policies
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes student growth
- Engage in professional development opportunities and participate actively in team meetings
Requirements
- Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification or the ability to obtain certification prior to the start of the school year
- Experience working with students who have autism spectrum disorder or other significant needs preferred
- Knowledge of structured teaching methods, especially the TEACCH model, is strongly desired
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
