Senior Applied Scientist - Copilot Pages and Notebooks

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality AI scenarios for the Pages and Notebooks modules in M365 Copilot
  • Work with other Applied Scientists to design and implement AI-powered experiences
  • Measure the impact of models
  • Collaborate with different product teams and shipping products globally
  • Master one or more subareas and gain knowledge in a broad area of research
  • Review business requirements and incorporate research to meet business goals
  • Provide strategic direction for the kinds of data used to solve problems
  • Apply deep subject matter knowledge to support business impact
  • Participate in onboarding of early in career team members
  • Assist in developing academics to be members of multidiscipline teams
  • Identify new research talent to join Microsoft
  • Collaborate with the academic community to develop the recruiting pipeline
  • Document work in progress and experimentation results
  • Share findings to promote innovation
  • Contribute to ethics and privacy policies related to research processes and data collection

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience
  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience
  • Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience
  • 2+ years experience in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and/or statistics
  • 3+ years experience in Python and familiarity with coding in multiple languages
