Surgical Tech

A rewarding opportunity is available for an Operating Room Technician in Herrin, IL, providing essential support in surgical procedures at a respected healthcare facility.

• Assist in patient transportation and positioning within the operating room
• Assemble and dismantle surgical tables and instruments pre- and post-procedure
• Prepare patients and operating rooms for scheduled surgeries
• Open sterile supplies and set up surgical instruments and equipment
• Complete skin preparation and draping
• Assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, and passing instruments and sutures
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and sutures during procedures
• Apply dressings and bandages as required
• Handle and care for surgical specimens appropriately
• Decontaminate instruments and equipment following established protocols
• Facilitate efficient operating room turnover between cases
• Monitor inventory and restock supplies as necessary

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program or equivalent military or on-the-job training
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred (NBSTSA or NCCT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of six months’ experience or specialized training in surgical technology
