About the role
The Senior ODA Consultant invests in our Purpose by collaborating with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), FAA designees, and Southwest Airlines Production Leadership to schedule and coordinate ODA activities such as design reviews, inspections, and tests. This role will author and manage FAA correspondence, identify and interpret FAA rules and guidance material, and perform ODA project planning and management functions to ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and Southwest policies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with FAA, FAA designees (DARs, DERs & ODAs), and Southwest Airlines Production Leadership to schedule and coordinate ODA activities, such as design reviews, inspections, and tests
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Southwest Production, QA, QC, Vendor Management, the FAA OMT, CMO, and Flight Standards policy branches
Requirements
- Proven experience working directly with the FAA on aircraft maintenance and/or certification matters
- Expert ability to collaborate effectively with internal Teams and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with FAA requirements and achieve project goals
