PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Manchester, New Hampshire in Manchester, NH - Soliant
Responsibilities
- Manage care for patients primarily recovering from cardio-thoracic and vascular surgeries along with medical progressive care needs.
- Monitor and maintain telemetry systems, ensuring patient safety and timely response to cardiac events.
- Care for patients with chest tubes and participate in thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, and pericardiocentesis procedures with drains.
- Administer and manage cardiac drips including dobutamine, dopamine, and levosimendan as required.
- Operate advanced medical equipment such as IV pumps, telemetry monitors, BiPAP/CPAP machines, and pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous, and external).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, acting with organization and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Requirements
- Current RN license with experience in telemetry and progressive care units required.
- Comfort and proficiency managing patients with chest tubes is essential.
- Experience with cardiac drips and external pacemakers is highly preferred.
- ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
- Ability to adapt to variable patient ratios (3-4:1) and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary staffing model.
