Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance and repairs on all types of mechanical equipment
- Maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
- Monitor safety, fire protection, and environmental control equipment
- Respond to service requests and secure necessary assistance
- Take preventative and emergency action to control malfunctions
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment
- Work from plans, sketches, or drawings
- Estimate materials for completion of the job
Requirements
- Must be able to perform the essential functions described in this announcement successfully
- Must be able to communicate with professional conduct and comprehend, through oral and written forms of communication, with management, peers, clients, and the public
- Dress appropriately for the work to be performed including wearing Personal Protective Equipment when necessary
- Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of mechanical trades, safety precautions, record keeping, and basic computer skills
