Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance and repairs on all types of mechanical equipment
  • Maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
  • Monitor safety, fire protection, and environmental control equipment
  • Respond to service requests and secure necessary assistance
  • Take preventative and emergency action to control malfunctions
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment
  • Work from plans, sketches, or drawings
  • Estimate materials for completion of the job

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions described in this announcement successfully
  • Must be able to communicate with professional conduct and comprehend, through oral and written forms of communication, with management, peers, clients, and the public
  • Dress appropriately for the work to be performed including wearing Personal Protective Equipment when necessary
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of mechanical trades, safety precautions, record keeping, and basic computer skills
