Responsibilities Audit Records: Perform coder audits based on the established system plan. Report Results: Distribute audit findings to the appropriate stakeholders. Improvement Plans: Create corrective actions for coding, billing, and documentation issues. Trend Analysis: Identify patterns to find specific educational needs. Education & Support: Present training programs and help manage high-risk compliance monitoring. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed. Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed. Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed. Education: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required. Work Experience: 1 year of experience required. Additional Preferences 5 or more years of experience in coding and 2 or more years experience in auditing healthcare CPC or CPS or CPMA certification
Responsibilities
- Perform coder audits based on the established system plan.
