About the role
Fiscal Analyst 5 (Project position) Note: This is a project position that is anticipated to have funding for 24 months. At the Department of Commerce, we’re reimagining what’s possible in government. Responsibilities
- Leads the development, coordination, and oversight of all agency-specific training, procedures, and documentation related to the implementation of the Workday financial system
- Interpret, analyze, and validate financial business processes and data in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal regulations, the Washington Administrative and Accounting Manual (WAAM), and internal policies
- Develop and implement new procedures, processes, and desk manuals for accounting and budget staff that reflect Workday functionality and updated workflows
- Design and deliver Commerce-specific training on Workday financial functions workflows and facilitate all-staff training events prior to go-live
- Provide timely, professional guidance and technical support to Accounting, Budget, IT, and Program staff regarding Workday functionality, OneWA updates, and agency-specific impacts
Requirements
- Nine (9) years of combined experience and/or education as described below
- Experience: At least three (3) years of professional level state or public sector accounting and two (2) years of experience in two (2) or more of the following areas or work related to the position
- Education: involves business administration, accounting, auditing, budgeting, public administration, law, or related fields
