About the role
The BHA Regulatory Compliance Director is a temporary project position assigned to implement the expectations as directed in SSB 5388
Responsibilities
- Implement the expectations as directed in SSB 5388
- Serve as the DOC lead and liaison
- Develop project charter
- Conduct crosswalk of previous DOC-DOC Health Environmental Safety Standards
- Coordinate 5388 workgroup meetings
- Develop routine progress report
- Develop communication and education plans
- Supervise the DOC 5388 project team members
- Develop internal survey readiness program
- Coordinate internal audits
- Develop formal communication process
Requirements
- An unblemished/unrestricted licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse
- At least five (5) years of recent clinical experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Two years (2) years of professional quality assurance experience
- Demonstrated experience with Behavioral Health Agency WAC requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, health care quality and effective care
- Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate documentation
- Demonstrated use of leading others, negotiating conflict, problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking
- Demonstrated experience with evidence-based practices
- Demonstrated experience with the development, implementation, or oversight of policies, procedures, protocols, and healthcare standards
- Certification by the American Heart Associate in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Proficiency using computer-based programs
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of NCCHC standards, CMS and DOH expectations, and RCW/WAC requirements
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
- Proficient in auditing records, using critical thinking in interpreting information
- Knowledgeable with team-oriented decision making, conflict management, and mediation techniques
