Surgical Technologist

• Assist in patient transportation and positioning within the operating room
• Set up and dismantle surgical tables and instruments pre- and post-procedure
• Prepare patients and rooms for surgical procedures, including skin prep and draping
• Open sterile supplies and maintain sterile fields during procedures
• Assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, and passing instruments and sutures
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges
• Apply dressings and bandages as needed
• Collect and care for surgical specimens
• Decontaminate instruments and restock supplies efficiently to support operating room turnover

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Non-certified candidates: Graduation from an accredited OR technician program, or relevant military training; dental assistant, ophthalmologist technician, or medical assistant experience accepted with documented training
• Certified candidates: Successful completion of Certified Surgical Technologist exam through NBSTSA or NCCT
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 6 months technical or specialized training, or equivalent on-the-job experience
