R&D- Technical Manager II

The Industrial Wood Lab is seeking a Senior R&D Manager to lead the development and commercialization efforts for new and existing products designed for Industrial Wood Market Segments

• Manages all lab priorities and projects, including new product development, product modifications, maintenance of business, and continuous improvement
• Manages laboratory staff with responsibility of hiring, training, developing, and managing performance
• Key technical champion accountable for deliverables on stage gate projects
• Collaborates with key stakeholders to build product roadmaps and effectively manage the technology portfolio
• Manages customer requests and collaborates with key stakeholders to support customers through problem resolution
• Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure successful customer transitions
• Participates in industry trade associations and serves as key technical contact for industrial wood technologies and applications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field
• 8 years of experience in coating formulation and applications
• 5 years of experience in managing/supervising direct report(s)
• Must have a minimum of 5 years new product development experience
• Must have previous project management experience
