Coder Emergency Department

The Emergency Department Coder is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting clinical documentation in the medical record, applying appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes conventions and Medicare Prospective Payment System requirements. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Reviews, analyzes, and interprets clinical documentation in the emergency room medical record.
• Applies appropriate code conventions and payment system requirements.
• Ensures accurate coding to optimize reimbursement and compliance.
• Collaborates with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding issues.

• High School Grad or Equiv Required
