About the role

Conduct virtual psychoeducational assessments to determine eligibility for special education services under IDEA and New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual psychoeducational assessments to determine eligibility for special education services under IDEA and New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) guidelines
  • Review academic and developmental records, conduct structured interviews, and administer appropriate assessments
  • Interpret assessment results and write legally defensible, comprehensive evaluation reports
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to determine appropriate educational classifications and services
  • Participate in virtual multidisciplinary team (MDT) and IEP meetings to present evaluation findings
  • Assist in the development of IEPs by providing relevant data, present levels of performance, and recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and New Mexico state regulations related to timelines, processes, and documentation
  • Maintain secure digital records and accurate documentation in district-approved systems
  • Communicate effectively with families, educators, and related service providers in a remote setting
  • Stay current on best practices in educational diagnostics, culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment, and tele-assessment tools

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Special Education, Educational Diagnostics, School Psychology, or a related field
  • Valid New Mexico Educational Diagnostician license issued by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED)
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, evaluation procedures, and special education law
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments (virtual experience preferred)
  • Proficiency with online assessment tools and digital data collection platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage caseload remotely
  • Access to a secure, private workspace and reliable high-speed internet
