About the role
The Infection Preventionist supports the Infection Prevention department and the AH system by coordinating multiple reporting and auditing functions including mandatory Department of Health reportable diseases/microorganisms, enhanced environmental and process audits and others as assigned by the Director of the Infection Prevention department.
Responsibilities
- Assists in implementing, monitoring, and aligning the IPC program with organizational goals under IP mentorship.
- Conducts surveillance using epidemiological methods to detect, classify, and act on infection-related events.
- Uses surveillance data to identify trends, report significant findings, and recommend changes.
- Participates in outbreak investigations and ensures compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Required or Master's in Public Health or another healthcare related field
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
