Specialty Pharmacy Technician

A well-established specialty pharmacy is seeking experienced Coverage/Access Pharmacy Technicians to support patients with rare and orphan diseases.

• Manage benefit investigations, coverage determinations, and prior authorizations for specialty medications
• Work closely with providers, payers, and patients to secure approvals for high-cost, rare disease therapies
• Assist with financial support options including grants, rebates, copay assistance, and manufacturer programs
• Maintain frequent, professional communication with patients and provider offices in a high-touch environment
• Accurately document all activity within the pharmacy system
• Collaborate with the specialty pharmacy team to ensure timely access to therapy

• Active national pharmacy technician certification (CPhT/PTCB required)
• Active New York pharmacy technician license
• Recent experience working specifically in a designated specialty pharmacy or specialty PBM
• Strong background in coverage, access, benefit investigation, and prior authorization workflows
• Experience supporting patients with high-cost specialty medications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and comfort handling complex cases
• Experience with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) or similar specialty pharmacy systems
