About the role
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12. Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet students’ specific auditory and communication needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12.
- Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet students’ specific auditory and communication needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and families to promote inclusive learning environments.
- Utilize a range of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), speechreading, and auditory training.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide support and resources for students’ social and academic development.
Requirements
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for language acquisition and auditory development.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
