About the role

Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12. Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet students’ specific auditory and communication needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12.
  • Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet students’ specific auditory and communication needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and families to promote inclusive learning environments.
  • Utilize a range of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), speechreading, and auditory training.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Provide support and resources for students’ social and academic development.

Requirements

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for language acquisition and auditory development.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
