The role you'll contribute: Responsible for applying the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) to adult or pediatric populations to identify, treat and monitor nutrition related problems. This role actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining respectful relationships with all. Contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of patient care through diligent performance of assigned duties. The value you'll bring to the team: Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status. Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors. Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services. May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies. Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.
