Special Education Teacher

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for a 5th-grade resource classroom in an elementary school located in Orland Park, IL. This role is offered on a contract basis for the current school year (CSY).

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities in a 5th-grade resource classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs
• Assess students’ progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
• Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress to parents and administration
• Support students in accessing the general education curriculum and participate in school activities as appropriate

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a resource setting
• Strong knowledge of special education best practices and individual education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff
