DSHS WSH Behavioral Health Specialist 3 - Behavior Management Specialist

The Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist 3 to join the Habilitative Mental Health Treatment Program (HMHTP) at Western State Hospital in Lakewood, Washington.

• Provide counseling and support to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental illness
• Develop, write, and lead individual and group treatment programs
• Implement positive behavioral support models and use therapeutic interventions to address challenging behaviors
• Teach and train patients in vocational skills
• Facilitate habilitative groups that build social, communication, and community integration skills

• Bachelor's degree in sociology, psychology, or other social science
• Two years of professional counseling or casework experience
• One year as a Behavioral Health Specialist 2
• Equivalent education/relevant experience
