About the role
Assists with setting up, scrubbing into, monitoring and assisting the physicians with all cases performed in the cardiac cath/EP lab. Cases included standard coronary angiography, coronary interventions. EP cases (devices, ablations, loop recorders, LAAO devices, CardioMems), Vascular Cases (TCAR,EVAR, Fistulagrams, Peripheral work). The Technologist is proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration. Adheres to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you'll bring to the team: Facilitates room turn over and set up for all cases in the cath lab using sterile technique Provides side by side support to the physician during cases Able to monitor cases appropriately using the EMR and hemodynamic system. Assesses and maintains the necessary supplies for the different cases performed and communicates to the lead RT or materials management when items need to be ordered. Captures and enters appropriate charges for each case Reconciles billing for historical cases Assists other team members to facilitate the daily workflow for the day which may include patient transport and other necessary duties. Qualifications The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed : Graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program Required One or more years of experience Preferred Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted. Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. Basic EKG interpretation Knowledge of electrophysiology diagnostic procedures RCIS/RCES BCLS - Basic Life Support Required ACLS Required ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required IEMA Required RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Preferred RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Preferred
