About the role
Develop the skills, through independent and on-the-job training, to become an investment analyst. This two-year program introduces individuals interested in, and with an aptitude for, a career in the investment management industry to all aspects of the fixed income capital markets.
Responsibilities
- Gathering, reading and distilling data and information from a wide range of sources (e.g., prospectuses, financial statements, third-party research) pertinent to evaluating the creditworthiness of companies, municipalities and structured products.
- Collaborating with senior investment analysts to produce investment recommendations.
- Generating and presenting proprietary credit research on companies, municipalities and structured products.
- Building spreadsheets and utilizing analytics software and databases (e.g. Bloomberg) for credit and industry analysis, surveillance and portfolio reporting.
- Engaging with issuer representatives and third-party analysts at in-person or remote meetings and webcasts.
Requirements
- Team experience and internship or other practical work experience are required.
- Candidates should demonstrate initiative, leadership, versatility, follow-through, the ability to deliver quality work, the ability to think analytically and to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
