About the role
The Accountant Senior is primarily responsible for maintaining the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and by establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. The senior accountant actively participates in creating and submitting cash funding requests, documenting financial transactions and is available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs. The senior accountant verifies, allocates, posts and reconcile transactions. The value you will bring to the team: Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents for accuracy and compliance. Creates and submits cash funding requests to ensure adequate cash flow. Reconciles urgent check accounts and requests wire transfers when necessary. Reviews and approves financial transactions initiated outside of accounting to maintain accuracy. Analyzes financial data to support decision-making processes and improve financial operations. Collaborates with various departments to enhance financial operations and reporting. Provides financial guidance and support to leadership and other stakeholders. Other duties as assigned. Verifies, allocates, posts, and reconciles transactions to ensure accurate financial records. Documents financial transactions. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: Bachelor's degree Required 2 Work Experience Required Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with data. Monitors own work to ensure quality. Reviews and validates financial information assumptions and methodology based on thorough understanding of financial concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Proficiency in PeopleSoft Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred Public accounting and/or accounting experience in a large healthcare company MSA or MBA degree from an accredited university or college Knowledge in COSO framework and technical accounting principles
