
Transport Respiratory Therapist Hybrid Children

About the role
Practices in accordance with philosophy, policies, procedures and standards of AdventHealth for Children; functions within the guidelines of the protocols for the Transport program that are reviewed and agreed on by the Neonatal and Pediatric Medical Director and Transport Manager. Identifies, plans, implements and evaluates emergency care for acutely ill neonatal and pediatric patients in collaboration with the Medical team for the receiving neonatal or pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Responsibilities
- Practices in accordance with philosophy, policies, procedures and standards of AdventHealth for Children; functions within the guidelines of the protocols for the Transport program that are reviewed and agreed on by the Neonatal and Pediatric Medical Director and Transport Manager.
- Identifies, plans, implements and evaluates emergency care for acutely ill neonatal and pediatric patients in collaboration with the Medical team for the receiving neonatal or pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
- Provides family-centered care, including psychosocial support, education, and transfer planning in conjunction with referral staff.
- Maintains effective communication with referral staff and families.
- Participates in educating staff from referring facilities through informal teaching and planned educational classes and/or conferences.
- Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Associate Required
- Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
