Responsibilities
- Facilitate Coastal Zone Management Program operations and community resilience efforts
- Coordinate and serve as liaison with Ecology staff and other state and federal agencies, Tribal representatives, and local governments
- Provide expertise, consultation, and technical support to project proponents and partners on habitat acquisition, restoration, and resilience projects and plans
- Develop project work plans, planning processes, and local government, Tribal, and stakeholder involvement strategies
- Participate in and coordinate SEA input in collaborative multi-agency or multi-stakeholder workgroups
- Develop outreach and engagement resources and conduct presentations to foster partnerships and support equitable access to habitat acquisition, restoration, CZM and community resilience funding opportunities
- Conduct research and analysis to assess gaps, needs, and opportunities in the fields of habitat conservation and community resilience
- Translate scientific and technical information into written materials, presentations, and other communications
- Develop various required coastal management program planning documents including the CZM Program Enhancement Assessment and Strategy
- Manage the state’s annual federal Coastal Zone Management grant
- Prepare plans, reports, documents and other informational material to implement SEA program shoreline and coastal planning objectives
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of experience and/or education as described below
- Experience in land use, urban, regional, environmental, or natural resource planning, and/or program development
- Education involving a major study in land use, urban, regional, environmental, or natural resource planning, landscape architecture, geography, land use or environmental law, public administration with an environmental emphasis, or closely related field
