About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research into major economic trends, transportation funding mechanisms, agency-wide revenue collections and related transactions critical to statewide transportation and public safety agencies/programs.
  • Design and implementation of econometric and simulation models, as well as staying up to date with major economic and demographic trends.
  • Providing revenue impact analysis of legislation and policy initiatives on DOL's revenue collections for transportation and public safety programs.
  • Maintaining forecasting data integrity and performing complex data analyses providing information critical to executive management decisions.
  • Evaluating tax policies and proposals as to their impact on state revenue and agency program operations.
  • Responding to legislative and executive management inquiries.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in business economics, public finance, public administration, forecasting, economic analysis, tax administration, auditing, collection, or program/policy analysis.
  • One (1) year of professional or educational data analysis experience using or applying math and or statistics.
  • One (1) year of professional or educational experience using research skills in problem solving.
  • Two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Excel to include macros, linked/files and pivot tables and ability to synthesize complex information into concise charts and/or fact sheets.
  • Two (2) years in the following programs: Outlook: Compose and respond to email messages, utilize calendars/ meeting request functions.
  • Word: Create, format, edit, preview, print, and save documents, using standard functions to select, edit, copy, paste, format, and spell check text.
  • Ability to understand and follow agency values of respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion through behaviors and decisions.
