Job Summary: Ramp Supervisors lead a Team of Ramp Agents to ensure on-time arrivals and departures, observe and offer guidance, ensure safety and compliance, and communicate updates. Additional details: Work assigned shifts based on seniority, U.S. citizenship or work authorization required. Responsibilities include coordinating with Departments, monitoring ground support, ensuring equipment maintenance, overseeing operations, maintaining safety, driving performance, and administrative duties. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Business and management principles, Collective Bargaining Agreements, airline operations, customer services, security operations, administrative procedures, problem-solving, communication, performance and safety concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Actively coordinate with all Departments to maintain the station's on-time performance, employee morale, and Customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and guide ground support performance to ensure requirements are met
  • Ensure all equipment including GSE is maintained and available for the operation
  • Oversee day-to-day airport operations to create a safe, secure, and legally compliant service-conscious environment
  • Meet or exceed performance goals through effective decision making, monitor and assign gate control for flights, assign and track Agents for training compliance
  • Maintain a safe working environment and institute programs to reduce accidents and injuries
  • Coordinate actively with all Departments to maintain the Station's on-time performance
  • Drive performance processes by forecasting operational situations, monitoring results against key metrics, and holding responsible parties accountable
  • Review and ensure accurate delay coding
  • Work with staff planning to build bids aligned with Department’s hourly goals
  • Perform administrative duties daily, such as building shift bids, closing bids, daily work assignments, daily payroll, and attendance reports
  • Assure proper administration of labor contracts or agreements
  • May perform other job duties as directed

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to comply with Company attendance standards
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Knowledge of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Knowledge of principles for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road
  • Knowledge of principles for providing Customer and personal services
  • Knowledge of security operations for protection of people, data, property, and institutions
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
  • Ability to listen, understand, and communicate ideas in writing or speaking
  • Ability to recognize and address performance and safety concerns
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance
  • Must be able to lift and move items of 70 pounds or more
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently
