About the role

The Health Sensing HW team develops groundbreaking health sensors that are central to helping our customers live a healthier lifestyle. We are looking for a data engineer with a desire to innovate in the space of optical sensors and health sensing features, with a passion for data pipelines/infrastructure and software development.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and consolidate requirements from sensor engineers for algorithm evaluation, behavioral modeling, data quality analyses, outlier analyses, and factory data analysis tools
  • Develop and maintain these tools/codebases/pipelines and consolidate common blocks
  • Manage and analyze data from user studies to identify key behaviors and establish relevant dependencies
  • Produce/present meaningful data visualizations to the team
  • Evaluate the impact of design choices on engineering metrics; propose trade-offs; and communicate the results and insights to cross-functional teams
  • Maintain simulation code with best software engineering practices, optimize and refactor codebase when necessary for performance and readability
  • Use developed code to predict system/user performance across a range of operating conditions including HW/FW settings, user physiology, ambient conditions, etc.

Requirements

  • Experience writing, debugging, and maintaining computer simulation code with strong software development skills, with proficiency in Python
  • Experience developing data analytics systems for early-stage projects to help team learn about unknown dependencies
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
