About the role
Collects and processes specimens according to established protocols on all patient populations. Performs associated clerical and computer functions as required. Correctly identifies patient and labels specimens according to procedure manual, 100% of the time, as observed by supervisor. Reports to the floor to obtain specimens according to urgency of request and promptly returns specimen to laboratory as observed by supervisor with no more than 4 variances per year. Collects specimens using proper technique to avoid hematomas, short draws, hemolysis, etc., at all times, with a minimum of 'couldn't gets', as observed by supervisor with no more than 7 variances per year. Checks for discrepancies in orders and resolves any that exist, signing only after patient is drawn, as outlined in phlebotomy manual and documented on checklist no more than 6 variances per year.

Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: High school graduate or equivalence required.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience in healthcare setting
- Preferred qualifications: PBT(ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
