Dispatcher I
Responsibilities
- Direct and service customer call-ins and dispatch drivers as needed.
- Prepares reports, utilizes computer-based ticketing system and reports to the Field Supervisor and/or District Manager.
- Corrects issues with driver’s logs in Xata application.
- Schedule drivers/trucks to meter provings and trucks.
- May sort run tickets, DOT logs and other office paperwork.
- Use computer to hand enter loads called in, loads dispatched to drivers and any other required data related to dispatch.
- Uses Computer to look up lease numbers, tank numbers, leases by name, operator number, barrel flow by destination, tickets by ticket number and by destination.
- Dispatchers are also responsible for staying up to date with lease severances relating to State Oil and Gas Boards approval to haul.
- Prepares morning reports related to over 48 hours, dropped loads, loads hauled, and any other reports related to dispatch or company business.
- Track and file reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Extensive interaction with customers relating to call-ins, coordinating leases to be hauled in a timely manner, ensuring that special instructions about leases are recorded and disseminated and resolving disputes over tickets.
- Perform other duties as assigned and relevant to operations of the company.
- Demonstrate a positive impact by promoting safety in decisions and actions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Interacts with the public, management, marketing and drivers.
- Great customer and personal relations skills required.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Basic math, keyboard skills, and knowledge of office procedures with responsible work habits.
- Utilizes 10-key calculator, multi-line telephone system, copy, fax machines and computers.
- Demonstrates conceptual thinking, strong planning, coordinating, problem solving skills, and multitasking abilities.
