The role you'll contribute: Processes specimens for pathologic diagnosis, tissue fixation, processing, preparing and staining slides for microscopic examination by the pathologist. The value you'll bring to the team: Registers, orders, and accessions pathology specimens into computer systems. Utilizes automated histology equipment properly according to lab procedures and manufacturers instructions. Assists pathologists with frozen section preparations and procedural areas with specimen collection such as Fine Needle Aspirations. May prepare cytology specimens. Maintains technical skills and aptitudes related to specimen processing and staining performed in the department or work area assigned.
