DSHS ESH Mental Health Technician 3

DSHS ESH Mental Health Technician 3 provides patient care on a ward under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) to patients with acute psychiatric physical illnesses and increased high-risk behaviors.

• Provide patient care on a ward under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Lead, co-lead groups, and document participation
• Manage and coordinate the safety and security of patient's personal belongings
• Responsible for the collection and distribution of patient and ward mail
• Maintain ward environmental safety by completing and tracking work orders for repair and/or removal of defective equipment and environmental hazards
• Maintain adequate ward supplies (forms, commissary stock)
• Maintain equipment inventory
• Accompany/transport patients to appointments in the community
• Accompany patients off ward activities

• Knowledge of Behavioral Health/Recovery principles
• Ability to use de-escalation skills
• Maintain a Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC), Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) ) or Medical Assistant (MA) license
• Ability to communicate and comprehend through oral and written forms of communication
