Maintenance Mechanic 3 (Lead Maintenance Mechanic Fire Alarm Technician) Are you a skilled tradesperson ready to take the lead? We’re looking for a Lead Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Western State Hospital, an adult psychiatric hospital, where you’ll use leadership to guide others and keep our facilities operating at their best.

• Maintenance and repairs in life safety, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Fire alarm testing and maintenance.
• Fire suppression testing and maintenance (fire sprinklers, stand pipes, fire extinguishers).
• Lead team workflow, provide guidance on safety policies and procedures, and assist staff with operational procedures.
• Install and maintain plumbing, electrical and mechanical fixtures; repair air conditioning, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, gates and hydrants.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all types of mechanical equipment.
• Emergency lighting testing.
• Minor appliance repairs.
• Develop solutions to repair and maintenance issues.
• Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches.

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of experience as a journey-level worker in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
• A Nicet Level 2 Fire Alarm Systems certification.
