Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Remote Position in Detroit, MI

We're seeking a passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher to provide specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments through our comprehensive remote learning system.

• Develop and implement individualized education programs for students with hearing impairments
• Create engaging virtual lessons that maximize visual learning opportunities
• Collaborate with families on educational strategies and provide updates on student progress
• Conduct virtual IEP meetings, facilitate parent conferences, and work closely with audiologists, speech therapists, and other related service providers
• Track academic achievement and communication development, and adapt instructional approaches based on individual hearing levels and communication preferences

• Active Michigan Deaf and Hard of Hearing teaching license
• Master's degree in Deaf Education or related field from an accredited institution
• Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience working specifically with students who have hearing impairments
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and understanding of various communication modalities used by DHH students
• Experience with assistive hearing technologies, visual learning strategies, and deaf culture awareness
