About the role
Patient Registration Specialist at CommonSpirit Health
Responsibilities
- Determining in-patient liability and arrangements for payment
- Ensuring that all assigned patients obtain financial clearance for services
- Interviewing patients to address all missing information and outstanding patient liabilities
- Identifying patients who may be eligible for government program assistance and refers, as appropriate, for completion of applications
- Assisting patients with Dignity Health’s Payment Assistance Program, provides applications, and, where necessary, assists in the completion of that application
- Calculating patient liabilities, makes payment arrangements and collects monies from patients
Requirements
- Two (2) years experience in a hospital Patient Registration department, Physician office setting, health insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or revenue cycle related role
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, preferably in healthcare
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
