Special Education Teacher

A school in Detroit, MI, is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher with experience in Autism to support a contract position for the current school year. This role is for an elementary school setting serving students with special needs.

• Provide individualized and group instruction for students with autism and special education needs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to deliver effective classroom support and interventions
• Participate in professional development sessions prior to student arrival
• Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation and communication with administration and families
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ diverse needs

• Valid Michigan Special Education teaching license
• Experience working with elementary students, preferably with autism spectrum disorder
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and administrators
