About the role

Responsible for providing technical support during the perioperative period under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position assists in preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available. Additionally, this role involves sterilizing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment. In addition, this position supports the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures. Additionally, this role monitors and maintains the sterility of the surgical field. Ensures compliance with clinical standards of care and safety protocols.

The value you'll bring to the team: Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures. Qualifications The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed: High School Grad or Equivalent [Required] Technical/Vocational School [Required] Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] AND NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA-CST) [Required] OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required] OR Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) [Required]
