About the role
Conduct virtual psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional functioning. Interpret data and write comprehensive evaluation reports in compliance with New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) and IDEA requirements. Participate in virtual multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and IEP meetings to support eligibility and placement decisions. Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, and consultation services to students, staff, and families as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional functioning
- Interpret data and write comprehensive evaluation reports in compliance with New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) and IDEA requirements
- Participate in virtual multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and IEP meetings to support eligibility and placement decisions
- Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, and consultation services to students, staff, and families as needed
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and other service providers to promote students' academic and emotional success
- Support schools in implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and communications in accordance with district and state policies
- Stay current with best practices, ethical guidelines, and legal regulations in school psychology and telepractice
- Deliver culturally responsive services in alignment with the diverse populations of New Mexico’s schools
Requirements
- Master’s, Specialist, or Doctorate degree in School Psychology from a NASP-accredited program
- Valid New Mexico School Psychologist license issued by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a school psychologist (in-person or virtual)
- Knowledge of special education law, including IDEA, Section 504, and FERPA
- Proficiency with virtual assessment tools and teletherapy platforms
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
