About the role

Grow with us as an Operator for our Empress 6 facility located north of Medicine Hat. These plants are some of the largest gas processing facilities in North America. At Plains we believe that everything depends on strong leadership and we are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill this position. The successful candidate for this position will be joining an operating crew at a 24 hour per day plant operation and providing leadership for the safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the operation of the facility within regulatory parameters;
  • Operating, maintaining, and / or repairing equipment and systems including equipment startup, shutdown and isolation
  • Working effectively in a team environment to monitor, log, resolve, and escalate operational and safety issues;
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, procedures, and site-specific training;
  • Maintaining appropriate records and documents and submitting reports as required;
  • Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification required;
  • Must be able to work a regular on-call 12-hour shift rotation, including weekends and statutory holidays;
  • Able to work in inclement weather conditions;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude;
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.;
