About the role
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a K-12 school setting. This contract position is designed to make a meaningful impact throughout the current school year in Gary, IN.
Responsibilities
- Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans for students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Support the development of students’ communication skills through therapeutic activities and classroom collaboration.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes as required by the supervising clinician and school policies.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing insights to help tailor interventions to student needs.
- Encourage a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Requirements
- Valid SLPA certification or licensure as required for practice in a school setting.
- Experience working in K-12 educational environments preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and collaborate under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.
