About the role
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Special Education Teacher to support students in 5th and 6th grade through the end of the current school year. This temporary, full-time role includes co-teaching in math, as well as pull-out support in both math and literacy. The teacher will also serve as case manager for 11 students, providing individualized support and managing IEP implementation.
Responsibilities
- Co-teach math lessons alongside general education teachers to support inclusive instruction.
- Provide targeted pull-out instruction in both math and literacy to small groups or individual students.
- Serve as case manager for a caseload of 11 students, overseeing IEP goals, accommodations, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress and engagement.
- Track and document student progress, maintaining compliance with all special education guidelines and timelines.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with upper elementary or middle grade students preferred.
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to implement differentiated instruction and behavior supports as needed.
