Transportation Engineer Intern - Washington State Ferries

The Transportation Engineer Intern will assist with engineering documentation, program coordination, and project support activities that help keep electrification efforts on schedule and aligned with statewide transportation goals.

• Assist with preparation of contractual and engineering documentation.
• Support development of monthly program update briefing materials and draft/format correspondence.
• Support design review activities under supervision.
• Assist with planning and coordination of site visits and meetings; take and organize meeting minutes.
• Support project schedule tracking and documentation to help maintain the smooth functioning of the Electrification Program.
• Assist Terminal and Vessel Electrification Marine Engineers with onsite activities, including site visits, observations, and commissioning support under direct supervision.
• Attend meetings and participate in project teams or committees as assigned.

• Completion of at least two semesters or three quarters (or equivalent) of study in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to assess data, identify problems, and apply logical solutions.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication with team members and supervisors.
