About the role
As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will help to maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running
- Perform basic monitoring and inspection
- Perform various types of maintenance and repairs
- Develop methods of operating procedures (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure safety and security requirements are followed and met
- Participate in equipment troubleshooting and escalation processes
- Monitor physical inspection of critical environment-related facility equipment
- Perform various inspections and validations of equipment performance
- Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track equipment assets
- Track hours for performed tasks within applicable task management systems
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours
- Ability to speak, write, and understand fluent English
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements
- Associate's Degree or technical trade certification, or higher-equivalent education AND 2+ years mission-critical services experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 3+ years mission-critical services experience
- Ability to climb ladders, frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps, prolonged standing, occasional lifting 50lbs/22.5kg, and normal visual acuity
