About the role

As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will help to maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running
  • Perform basic monitoring and inspection
  • Perform various types of maintenance and repairs
  • Develop methods of operating procedures (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are followed and met
  • Participate in equipment troubleshooting and escalation processes
  • Monitor physical inspection of critical environment-related facility equipment
  • Perform various inspections and validations of equipment performance
  • Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track equipment assets
  • Track hours for performed tasks within applicable task management systems

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand fluent English
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements
  • Associate's Degree or technical trade certification, or higher-equivalent education AND 2+ years mission-critical services experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 3+ years mission-critical services experience
  • Ability to climb ladders, frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps, prolonged standing, occasional lifting 50lbs/22.5kg, and normal visual acuity

$122,200 - $135,800/yearly
