Principal Firmware Engineer

Microsoft Silicon and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission

• Involved with all phases of product development, from architectural design through firmware architecture and development
• Working with stakeholders and partners, you will enhance and fine tune future HW/SW product solutions and architect new ones
• Drive, define, implement, and lead execution of FW integration and validation test plans
• Firmware level debug as part of end-to-end firmware development and debug
• Sourcing, debugging, and resolving HW & SW bugs
• Architecting and implementing test cases and frameworks that will be utilized to conduct testing and establish coverage
• Identifying and addressing inefficiencies and gaps in coverage, testing, execution, etc.
• Setting expectations, negotiating timelines, and managing handshakes, dependencies, and deliverables
• Mentoring, guiding, and helping peers and other team members

• Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience
• OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience
• OR equivalent experience
