About the role

The Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility opened in July of 2024, with support from the Department of Social and Health Services, the Department of Children, Youth and Families, Health Care Authority, MultiCare, and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, therapeutic patient care and coordination of services
  • Attend to the general care of patients, and provide emotional and physical comfort and safety
  • Give assistance and guidance in cleanliness, grooming, rest, activities, and nourishment
  • Assist with the habilitation of patients according to the treatment plan
  • Examine patients to determine medical care needs
  • Treat minor ailments and perform first-aid
  • Administer and oversee the administration of medications
  • Assist with physical examinations, techniques, and procedures
  • Observe and record the physical and mental conditions of patients
  • Participate in education programs and treatment team conferences

Requirements

  • A valid Washington State license to practice as a registered, professional nurse
  • CPR Certified
  • Ability to provide good judgment in supporting clients in crises
  • Able to safely intervene to protect clients from harm to themselves or others
