About the role
This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and administrators to support students’ academic and personal growth in an inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting teachers with classroom instruction and activities
- Providing one-on-one or small group support tailored to student needs
- Supporting students with behavioral and social-emotional challenges
- Assisting with daily living skills and mobility as required
- Documenting and reporting student progress to supervising staff
- Promoting a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning atmosphere
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; some districts may require Associate’s degree or higher
- Illinois ISBE Para Educator License or willingness to obtain prior to start date
- Experience in school or childcare settings is preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for supporting children with diverse needs
