About the role
Policy Advisor (WMS 2) position responsible for advanced policy research, analysis, and development. Manages staff, represents the agency externally, advises leadership, and engages stakeholders on economic and community development policies. Requires nine years of relevant education and experience in policy development or grant-seeking.
Responsibilities
- Lead policy development and research on economic and community development issues
- Write policy memos and communications materials
- Represent the agency with external stakeholders and communities
- Advise agency leadership and stakeholders on policy initiatives
- Manage the Legislative and Rules Coordinator position
- Provide expert consultation on economic development programs
- Draft legislative reports and talking points
- Engage with legislators and stakeholders to understand policy intent
Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience totaling nine (9) years
- Professional level experience in grant-seeking and/or policy development
- Effective communication skills
- Time management and project management techniques
- Ability to analyze data and policy
- High ethical standards
