Job Summary: This position will provide leadership for our specialty pharmacy licensing team. The role will oversee all aspects of obtaining, maintaining, and managing state licenses required to operate specialty pharmacies within various states.
Key Responsibilities: • Leadership – Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations for direct reports. • Strategic Planning – Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with state regulations and licensure requirements. • Regulatory Affairs – Manage relationships with state regulatory agencies, including responding to inquiries, requests for information, and onsite inspections. • Compliance Monitoring – Ensure adherence to state laws and regulations related to specialty pharmacy operations, including drug distribution, patient safety, and controlled substance handling. • Reporting – Prepare and submit annual license renewal applications, updates, and other reporting requirements as mandated by each state. • Policy Development – Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop policies and procedures aligned with state licensing standards. • Budget Management – Oversee budget planning and expenditures related to licensing activities. • Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs associated with licensing processes.
Qualifications: Education & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associates degree or equivalent experience in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field. License/Certification: None required. Skills & Abilities: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Familiarity with web-based platforms and electronic document storage systems. Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing specialty pharmacy operations. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and resolution. Ability to travel as needed (<10%). The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
